The CAC had a very good monthly meeting on Tuesday, November 17. We reviewed progress on many fronts. One of our major topics this week was the Marin Grand Jury Report on the issue of Climate. (you can read it by clicking HERE).

The County required each Town and City to respond. We agreed on our recommended text to send to the Fairfax Town council for their consideration. This will be considered by them at their upcoming December council meeting.

Our friends at Sustainable Fairfax are hosting No-Waste November this month - an incredibly important initiative, given the percentage of our emissions that come from our waste stream. Check them out here: They are also running a series of very helpful Community Chats, giving us invaluable information for reducing our personal and collective climate footprints. Click HERE for recordings of past and coming events.

On November 9, the CAC hosted a Community Emergency Conversation to talk about the Transportation Section of our upcoming Climate Action Plan.

We will hold our next Community Emergency Conversation to talk about Building Energy on Monday, December 14, from 6:30 - 7:30. Please come and help us develop our strategy.

And, we will have our next Climate Action Committee Meeting on Tuesday, December 15, from 7-9 (the link will be put up on the CAC website soon).

Finally, we will having the first day of a 2day Climate Retreat to think deeply about what we can accomplish, as a Town, over the course of 2021, and prepare our budget request to the Town Council. That first meeting will occur on Saturday, December 19. All of these meetings will be held by ZOOM; we invite you all to join us.

We have a new President now, and one who is committed to following the Science. The Science says that we must cut our collective climate footprint 50% by 2030. We have a lot of work to do, and we are trying to get it done.

This is going to take all of us. Join us, if you can.

Thanks!

Preferred Pricing on Electric Vehicles

As you may know, the Governor of Califonria has signed an Executive Order requiring the sale of ONLY Electric Vehicles beginning in 2035.

The Town of Fairfax is trying to get to zero emissions by 2030, and electrifying our transportation is going to be a critical element of our success.

The non-profit Drive Clean Bay Area is working with the various manufacturers of EVs to be able to offer them at preferred, discounted, prices. You can find their preferred pricing HERE.

If anyone is in the market for a new Vehicle, you will be wise to make it electric, and you will be wiser to get it at a discount!

And, join us TONIGHT for our Climate Action Conversation, focused on Transportation.

Elections come, and Elections go. Politicians come and Politicians go.

Carbon stays in the environment for 1000 years.

The Town of Fairfax is on a mission to reduce our emissions 100% by 2030.

The biggest challenge we have here is our cars and other vehicles.

Come talk with us about how our Town can figure out how to help us move towards the environmentally friendly place we aspire to be.

We will show the world it can be done.

Tell us what you think!
